Reading can open doors.....

We keep a “family” Bible on the living room coffee table and use it for daily Bible Study. We’ll also use it to look up verses when Skip is working on his Kids-4-Truth assignments, among other reasons. The last few months or so Skip has begun to pick it up at various times during the day and look through it. He likes the fact that this one has tabs for all the Books, and likes to see how many he knows in order. The last few week however he has started to just leaf through and look for verses. When he finds one he likes, he reads it out loud to us. He also has made verse searching a part of family Bible reading time. When Mike is done leading devotions at night Skip will get the Bible and together with his father they will look for verses, then discuss the ones that interest him. I’m always amazed at just how much he understands, and love watching them learn about God this way. Tonite I couldn’t resist but take a few pictures.

The ironic thing is, he enjoys it So much we have to tell him he HAS to stop reading because it's way past his bedtime!
