"The Captain"

Our little Captain at age 3-1/2 needed to stand on the foot rest in order to pretend to drive. He couldn't reach the helm seat but it didn't matter - he couldn't see above the dash anyway. 

At 8-1/2 the Captain is a natural and doesn't need to pretend - he drives every chance he gets.  He is experienced at following both charts and the GPS and has learned all about using Radar as an aid in navigating under certain conditions. Best of all, he no longer needs the foot rest to see out the dash, and can sit comfortably on the helm seat!
