Everyone has their own emergency preparedness list, and we of course are no exception. With Hurricane Irene expected to arrive here early tomorrow morning, we spent most of the day working on our list, which included:

Get the boat out of the water
and into the Boat Yard |
 |
Assemble emergency kit: flashlights, battery-operated
clock, converter, and helmets (in case of tornado) |

Cook up a giant pan of pasta sauce with the
vegetables and spices we harvested |
 |
| Clean gutters |
 |
| Clear the back yard of tools and toys |
 |
| Tie down what can't be stored in the sheds or indoors. |
Lower the level of the pond 8-10" in case of flooding.
Wouldn't want to have Koi flopping around in the front yard.

| And finally, purchase slice and bake cookie dough...because one can never have enough, of course. |

I read in the newspapers that Irene wasn't the monster as expected. So glad for that and happy that you are all safe.
