Vacation Highlights: Nana can you bring cookies?
One of the best parts about spending a good part of our vacation in Cotuit/Sampson's Island, is the time we get to spend with Mike's parents. It's great to have them come out to the boat each day and relax, and the boys just love their time with Nana & Grampy. We are wonderful grandparents and love the boys so very much! My MIL is the type of grandparent that just lowers herself to their level, and sees the eyes through their eyes. She brings them special treats they don't normally have - like the mini soda cans that are just the right size for kids - and little sand toys to keep active boys occupied. They are always so thoughtful and generous, always asking what they can bring for us. We usually just ask them to bring ice since we can never get enough of it on the boat. It just melts so quickly!
Well the first day they came, they brought lobster and fish 'n chips for dinner as well as Pepperidge Farm cookies for dessert. Jackpot! The second day Nana brought a huge tin of peanut butter cookies & some really good chowder, which was another hit with all of us!
In between all the eating, Nana & Grampy love to spend time with the boys: swimming, walking the beach, exploring their world, and even wrapping them in THEIR plush DRY towels when the boys come out of the water. Each time it's ready for them leave, the boys ask if they'll be back the next day. I love seeing the bond between grandparents/kids develop & grow!
Well on the third night, as Nana & Grampy were getting ready for Mike to bring them back to the dock, they again asked what we needed. "Nothing" was my reply. "Can you bring more cookies, please?" was Harry's! In his defense, she did ask, and, he was polite about it!
