Following in his brother's footsteps...err...paddle strokes

When Skip was three some friends at our marina let us borrow their kayaks while we were all out at Hadley Harbor one weekend. Skip LOVED it and immediately started asking for one. We told him "Sure" if he had the money. He said he had about 20.00 in his piggy bank, but we explained it wasn't enough and that he'd have to save for one. He did. TRULY. Every penny, nickel, dime, quarter or bill he got from then on, he immediately put in his bank for his kayak. For his fourth birthday we got him a used tandem model with room for a child in the middle on ebay. These are NOT cheap, and we found a great deal on it! Well all's been good since then - until Harry. This year I haven't ridden in it yet - Mike always takes one or both kids since we can't all fit it in, and they love going with Mike because he takes them better places and goes much faster. Anyway, we started talking about getting another one for Harry and this week Mike found another great deal on one on Craigslist. It's the same brand as Skips, just a different model. Last night Mike took the boys to go get it, and boy was Harry happy! We were gonna wait until his actual birthday on 1 September, but 1) it's not exactly something we can hide under the bed, and 2) we're going on our somewhat annual 10 day/9 night aimleslly crusing around vacation in 10 days so we figure we'll get lots of use out of it then.We told him it's an early birthday present.
