Boston mini-trip

Since Mike again had an afternoon of testing at the Seizure Clinic in Boston, we combined it with a walking tour of Boston and had a really, really fun time.  We drove into the city mid-day on Tuesday, arriving 90 minutes early for the first Dr. appointment at 2:30. We had a quick but healthy lunch at MGH's cafeteria.  We did have alot of waiting time on our hands, so the boys used that time to finish up their school work for the day, and then generally drove me nuts in the waiting room.  They WERE very good for most of the time, but after 3.5 hours they had had it and started to aggravate each other.  Mike was finally done by 6:15 and we were ALL ready to head over to the hotel.  Mike used Priceline and got a super nice, super huge room for us at the Hyatt Regency for only $79.00!  Once we unpacked, we ate the picnic dinner I had brought along, then changed up and headed down to the pool. Mike and the boys swam for an hour while I hit the gym, and by the time we got back to our rooms it was nearly 8:30.  We all watched The Biggest Loser for a bit, with the boys dozing off about half way through the show. 

This morning we slept in, then had a quick & easy breakfast I brought along as well: cereal and yogurt, then took our time packing up our things. Once we checked out we walked to the parking garage, dumped our luggage, and started on our walking tour. The day started out a bit chilly, but my lunch time the weather was BEAUTIFUL!   We walked a good portion of the

 Freedom Trail, with stops at Boston Common, Old State House, Paul Revere's house, Boston Massacre Site, Paul Revere's Statue,  Old North Church Old South Meeting House, School Street, Copp's Hill Burial Ground, Granary Burial Ground, and the Old North End. 

High on my list of "must-see's" for the day were LaFamilia Giorgio's Italian Restaurant (where we ate lunch) and Mike's Pastry for dessert (Amaretto Cannoli...mmmm-mmmm-mmmmm!)

When we were finished with our tour we took the "T" back to the parking garage and headed outta town, just missing the rush-hour traffic.  On the drive home we all talked about what our favorite part of the day was.  There were so many things to choose from but I'd have to say, my favorite part of the day was when Harry asked us if Paul Revere was still living...right after visiting his burial place.  Perhaps Harry didn't get as much outta the trip as Skip did, but, the entertainment he provides is at times, priceless!
