Going, going, gone...

...finally. Yep, today was the day the boys gained back their bike riding spot - the driveway.  From mid-October through early/mid May - the driveway serves another purpose besides a location to park the three vehicles we own - it's the home of Itlldo(pronounced "It'll do", our 34' power boat.  But today that all changed with Bayside Marine showed up on schedule (as they always are) and hauled it to Padanaram Harbor. It's launched there, then drive around New Bedford Harbor and around to Fairhaven's West Island. 

Although the forecast for today (as well as the indefinite future) called for rain, God spared us for sure.  While it was overcast, it didn't rain a drop until we were back home in Dartmouth.  The ride itself was uneventful - despite 4' to 6' waves more than half of the 75 minute ride, but for Mike, that's nothing since he's used to much worse conditions.

The sun even made an attempt at breaking through the clouds, and in fact, when we sat and had lunch on the deck, before we headed back home, it was actually kinda warm.

And so, tomorrow morning we'll help the boys reclaim the driveway by sweeping it up and getting rid of all the stray items that seem to go hand-in-hand with spring boat prepping. This time tomorrow they'll be doing laps in the driveway, and Mike & I will be tending to all the fun chores that get put on hold until he boat is floating each spring - yard work, gardening, house repairs, and of course, mapping out our summer boating schedule!
